Ductmate Flanges

Is the Ductmate flange the original Ductmate flange?

Yes, it is the original Ductmate flange from the USA with integral mastic and Ductmate’s patented ‘no bolt’ corner system. It is a self sealing flange with downset corners to ensure an airtight seal.

Are Ductmate flanges simple to install?

Yes. The no bolt corners significantly reduce installation times and, if properly installed, the Ductmate 35 system requires no additional sealing.

How airtight is the Ductmate flange?

Ductmate flange is one of the most airtight flange systems you can buy. Testing shows that it meets the SMACNA 0.5% allowable leakage test.

Which gaskets should I use?

For permanent ductwork a 440 Butyl gasket is used whilst a neoprene gasket is used for removable ductwork.

Which cleats are used on the Ductmate system?

Metal or PVC cleats. PVC cleats are used for indoor installations and are generally favoured over metal cleats for removable ductwork. PVC cleats tend to retain their shape more effectively than metal cleats.

PROrail

What is the Prorail system?

The PROrail system is a unique method of securing turning vanes that has never been seen before in Australia. PROrail combines a revolutionary design with precision dies in the manufacturing process. The result: no rattles, no problems with rotated or misaligned vanes, and no added system noise. PROrail will be as quiet in years to come as it is today.
There is no airstream interference with PROrail. PROrail is installed quickly and easily using no special tools. Once PROrail is in place, the airflow problem is solved - permanently and efficiently.

What real advantages does the PROrail system have over other brands?

The PROrail self-lock system is based on a friction-fit design. It requires no mechanical fasteners and no special tools to lock the vane in place. Vane are automatically centred and aligned. PROrail is by far the quickest and easiest rail system to install.

Does the PROrail System have less pull out strength than fastened systems?

No. Due to the extended tab design, the tab fits into the web of the vane similar to the Easyrod inserts for tie rods. The pull out strength of the PROrail system is over 55 kgs and was tested to 3736 pa with no pull out noted.

What size turning vanes does the PROrail system use?

The PROrail system is available for 50 mm and 100 mm vanes. The vanes are double walled which means greater unsupported vane lengths than single walled vanes.

What lengths are the PROrail and turning vane sold in?

Both the PROrail and turning vane are sold in bundles of 10 x 3.05 metre lengths.

Clutcher

What is the Clutcher?

It is a wire rope hanging system designed for the HVAC industry and other mechanical applications. It consists of a length of galvanised wire rope and the “Clutcher”. The Clutcher is made of a zinc cast body. It contains two independent channels; one that has spring-loaded steel wedges with serrated teeth that ‘bite’ into the wire rope. The other channel allows the wire rope to slide freely.

Do you need any tools to adjust the Clutcher?

No. The hanging height can be easily adjusted by hand.

What is the working load limit of the Clutcher?

The Clutcher is available in 4 different sizes with the load limits shown below:

What is the wire rope made from?

It is made from galvanised steel (aircraft quality cable) and is either a 7x7 or 7x19 wire rope. A 7x7 wire rope has one wire down the centre (consisting of seven strands) with six wires (consisting of seven strands) wrapped around it-49 strands of wire in total. A 7 x19 wire rope has one wire down the centre (consisting of seven strands) with 18 wires (consisting of seven strands) wrapped around it – 133 strands of wire in total.

Is the wire sold in pre cut lengths?

No. Both the 7x7 and 7x19 wire rope are sold in 164 m spools eliminating the need to stock pre-cut wire.

What is PROseal?

PROseal is premium water based high velocity duct sealant designed to seal against air leaks in low, medium and high pressure duct systems. It can be used on exterior or rooftop applications. It can also be used to internally seal longitudinal (Pittsburgh or Snap Lock) seams for ductwork used in systems requiring an “A” seal class.

What are VOCs?

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOCs include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have short and long term adverse health effects. VOCs are emitted by a wide array of products numbering in the thousands; examples include paints, cleaning supplies, building materials, furnishings, office supplies, etc. VOCs are a major contributor to poor indoor air quality (IAQ) and as a result there is a growing shift towards products with low VOCs.

What is the VOC content of the PROseal duct sealant?

The results of independent testing show that PROseal duct sealant contains less than 1 gram of VOC content material per litre. PROseal duct sealant meets Green Star VOC emissions criteria for all Green Star rating tools.

Does Ductware sell other low VOC duct sealants?

Yes, both the Fiberseal and Everseal water based duct sealants have less than 1 gram of VOC content material per litre.
